Meet Dr. Harju

Hi, I’m Bryan Harju (pronounced “Har-you”). It’s humorous how often when introducing myself, “Hi, I’m Bryan Harju.”, the person I’m addressing replies, “I’m fine, how are you?”

I’d like to think that it’s somewhat fitting. The truth is, what I find most fulfilling is getting to know and best understand the people God puts into my life, so I can best help them achieve their goals. This is why I feel blessed to be in the practice of dentistry. My job is to care for the oral and overall health of my patients. What keeps me energized is helping people achieve their dental and overall health desires so they can live their best life.

My professional development includes graduating from Case Western Reserve School of Dental Medicine in 2001.  Since then, I’ve expanded my knowledge and skills through continuing education in Cosmetic Dentistry, Complex Restorative Dentistry, Temporomandibular disorders, the oral-systemic link, and biologic (bio-safe) dentistry.

I’ve studied with some of the world’s best dentists, completing programs at the Pankey Institute and The Dawson Academy.   I am accredited with the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) and I am SMART (Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique) Certified.

When you visit our office, you will agree that I get to work with the best people.  My team is highly trained and professional.  But, better than that, they are great people to be around.  Each has been hand-picked and trained to serve each other and our patients.  They are smart, fun, and encouraging.  I’m blessed to work along-side them!

More than anything, my greatest purpose and joy are in my family.  God has blessed me with a best friend and beautiful wife, Rebecca.  We have 5 great kids.  With their ages ranging from teen to young adult, we share a busy and meaningful life together.

About Our Dental Team

Dana

I received my degree in dental hygiene in 2000 after graduating from Sinclair College. I also received my license in Local Anesthesia in 2009. I enjoy working in a relationship-based dental office where I can look forward to reacquainting with past patients and creating friendships with new ones. My husband, Jamie, and I live in Russia with our three crazy but wonderful children! I enjoy spending time with family and friends, golfing, boating and being a church volunteer.

Sandra

From the time I was in 9th grade I knew I wanted to make dentistry my career. Dentistry just keeps getting better in every way, and my passion is seeing patients improve their over-all health and smile. After earning a Dental Assistant's certificate, I decided to continue my education by going back to school to earn a license as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, which allows me to place fillings. My goal is to always help patients feel comfortable, appreciated and well-cared for. When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my family! My married daughter, Lindsay and her husband, Kevin live in Buffalo, New York. We also have a son, Brad who enjoys stock car racing. Many weekends you might find us at the race track cheering him on!

Tara

While growing up, I had a pleasant relationship with our family dentist and his wonderful staff. As a teenager, I was blessed to be given the opportunity to be on board with their staff. That opportunity inspired and motivated me to pursue a degree in the health care field as a dental hygienist. I received my degree in Dental Hygiene in 2004 after graduating from Rhodes State. In 2012, I received my local anesthesia license. Here I am, blessed once again, with the opportunity to work in a positive environment where everyone is passionate about building personal relationships. Every day, I look forward to visiting with patients, whether they have been coming here for years or whether this is their first visit. My husband, Gavin, and I, live in Houston with our four children, Mason, Marissa, Devyn and Matt. There's never a dull moment around our house, with four kids, three dogs, two hermit crabs and one cat!

I have been working in an office setting for over three years now. My first receptionist job was at a chiropractic office in Brookville. After I graduated High School from Franklin Monroe I decided that it was time to get a different job. I had heard from many people about Dr. Harju's office before and how wonderful it is. So once there was a job opportunity I brought in my resume not knowing what kind of office I was really walking into. There was no reason for me to worry at all, Dr. Harju and the ladies here are some of the kindest and friendliest people I have ever met. They have created a family feel not only to their fellow coworkers but to their patients as well. Unfortunately I have to leave Towne Park Dentistry and its wonderful staff this fall. I will be getting married to my fiance Seth in September and moving up to Saint Clair Shores Michigan to begin a new chapter of life with him. I currently live at home with my parents and two younger siblings. Spending my free time helping with the youth at Castine Church, cooking, and reading.

As a prior patient, before becoming an employee, I have always loved everything about Towne Park Dentistry. When I was younger, I had a traumatic dental experience but upon coming here it has always been above and beyond. As of the spring of 2022, I am now honored to be a part of this special team. We start our days off with prayer and try to promote a calm and positive atmosphere. I love my community and enjoy meeting new patients and having conversations with the older ones. I am a part-time assistant working Mondays and Tuesday. On the weekends, I operate a small coffee camper in west Milton, Ohio. My weeks stay busy, but I love the opportunities I have to chat and get to know people from all over!

Maddy

I began working in a dental office seven years ago during my senior year of high school as I was completing the Dental Assisting program at Miami Valley CTC. I love meeting patients and learning about their lives. My goal is always to make patients feel comfortable and give them the best possible dental experience. I live in Covington with my husband Abe, our daughter Marilla, and our cat Betty. I enjoy traveling, reading and drinking good coffee with friends in my free time.

Cheyene

Growing up I saw my grandma Bev working for Dr. Harju, and ever since then I knew I was going to work in dentistry. To further my education, I completed a program called DATS (Dental Assisting Training School) in September 2014. From there I started as a dental assistant and eventually expanded my skills at the front desk. My husband Nicholas and I reside here in Troy with our two boys, Nolan and Cohen. I enjoy my time with my family and friends, and being involved in my church. I am blessed with all that God has given me.

Staci

In high school, I knew I wanted to be in the dental field. Starting in 2013 I worked as a dental assistant for an orthodontist in Noblesville, IN for 5 years. Once getting married and moving to Ohio, I was eager for change. I have been working at the front desk for Dr. Harju since May 2020 and have loved being a part of the team here at Towne Park Dentistry. My husband and I live just outside of Troy with our son, Quinn. In my free time, I enjoy being with family and friends, outside in the garden or at the gym.

Bailie

I was 15 years old when I first started thinking about dentistry. Dr. Harju gave me the opportunity to be a part of his team in the spring of 2018. Since then I have been trained to be a dental assistant. I have learned a lot about dentistry and I am always ready to learn more. I enjoy meeting new faces and seeing familiar faces reappear in our office. I am ready to serve you and help you with your dental needs. My family and I have lived in Ludlow Falls for a little over 9 years. We are the caretakers of a Church Camp. Whenever I’m home I love spending time with my parents and playing with my five younger siblings. Yes, our house does become crazy at times but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

I have always loved being in an office environment, so when I was given the opportunity to become a part of the team here, I was thrilled. Since I was new to the dental field when I started, learning a new field has been a great experience for me. I love getting to know and building relationships with our patients. I also enjoy helping to provide a welcoming environment for our patients! My husband, Cory and I have three kids who keep us busy. I love watching my kids play sports, coaching volleyball, and spending time with family and friends. I look forward to meeting you!
